Commentary for I Chronicles 6:55

וּמִֽמַּחֲצִית֙ מַטֵּ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה אֶת־עָנֵר֙ וְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־בִּלְעָ֖ם וְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ לְמִשְׁפַּ֥חַת לִבְנֵי־קְהָ֖ת הַנּוֹתָרִֽים׃ (פ)

and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Aner with the open land about it, and Bileam with the open land about it, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.

And from half the tribe of Manasseh, etc. until “half the tribe of Manasseh” that was in trans-Jordan and in the land of Israel.

Rashi on I Chronicles

to the family of the remaining sons of Kehath They are the Levites, and the meaning is that Ephraim and Manasseh gave everything to that remnant mentioned above (verse 46): “And to the sons of Kehath who remained from the family of the tribe.”
